For me, there's no alternative when it comes to browsers in the year 2022 2023. The Firefox Developer Edition1 paired with a couple of hand-picked extensions (Firefox Multi-Account Containers, OneTab2, and uBlock Origin) provides me with a performant, annoyances-free web experience.
My privacy settings are set to "strict", with the "HTTPS-only mode" enabled, and DuckDuckGo3 as default search engine. I have it set up to delete all cookies and site data whenever I close the application, excluding some manually-added exceptions. Firefox respects my system settings regarding dark/light mode.
The Developer Edition keeps me in the "Beta channel", i.e. uses the latest beta version dev tools as well as experimental features. So far, I have not encountered any issues using the latest near-edge version of the browser.
