I usually don't watch anything that remotely resembles reality TV. However, I came across the latest edition of 7 vs. Wild1, Germany's version of Alone2 or Survivor3, and must say that I am enjoying it4. It's the fourth season of an ongoing show, but let's treat it as a one-time mini-series, because I don't think I'll ever watch its previous iterations.
The concept: 7 people have to survive in a remote location5 for 14 days. Apart from Joey Kelly (ugh) of the Kelly Family, I hadn't even heard of any of the other six people: two of them survival experts, the rest "influencers" or streamers or whatever. There's a lot of cringe, some funny bits, a tiny bit of survival knowledge, but somehow it's still entertaining. Not sure what exactly it is. I'll keep on watching.
An issue I have with this show is that, without exception, none of the contestants are interesting people. What's worse, all of them are really annoying. This becomes even clearer when watching the BTS6 features.
