The movie's title sequence goes like this: "2400 times a year. 44 times a week. 9 times a day. Every 48 minutes. A bank is robbed here." Well, this makes absolutely zero sense. At this point, before the movie even started, I knew what I was getting into. Turn off your brain for this one!
This movie features only unlikable characters who pretend to act cool. It's mildly hilarious. Gerard Butler plays himself again. He really has no range, even though he's trying so hard. 50 Cent is worth his name as an actor.
It's not even a terrible movie, which makes it more frustrating, because you're still following this absolute loser-asshole (Butler) around trying to catch other assholes. There's nothing redeeming. Who cares what happens to these protagonists?
Den of Thieves is wannabe-Heat without the heat. It's angry, roided-up macho-men posturing for 140 minutes. Why still 2.5 stars? Because if you look past the cringe it's a decent heist movie and I do like heist movies.
