More commonly known as "Tokyo Story", this is considered to be one of the greatest movies in the history of cinema and an absolute masterpiece. I had to watch it for my "Japanese Culture & Society" class in college and maybe that's why I'm not buying the praise.
Without giving away any spoilers: it's the story of an old couple visiting their children in the city. Then a lot of nothing happens and then the movie is over. Yeah yeah, I know there's a lot of symbolism and themes going on such as generation-struggle, shifts in traditional values, impending Westernization etc., but leave that for that 5-page paper you have to write about it.
