“God, the 80s are wild.”
Totally Killer is a lighthearted comedy with some slasher elements. I'm bumping the rating up to a full four stars, because it's funny, fresh, nostalgic, and doesn't take itself too seriously.
The movie was recommended to me, and part from its comedy-horror genre I knew absolute nothing about it, including the time-travel aspect of the story, which is unfortunately spoiled away on the movie's IMDB page. I feel that not knowing this major plot point beforehand made the viewing experience so much better. The movie gives me Happy Death Day vibes, another comedy-horror flick that is fresh and unique. Unfortunately, IMDB also spoils that movie's "twist" in a similar way. I guess I'll just have to refrain from reading those little plot introductions1 the same way I refrain from watching any movie trailers.
